The Great Falls Farmers’ Market may not be the biggest market around, but if you’re the kind of person who cares about quality ingredients, you’ll find plenty to work with here. It’s right at the corner of 7th and Avenue A—outdoors, relaxed, just the way a local market ought to be. The produce is always fresh, and because it’s local, you get what’s truly in season—no sad, out-of-place strawberries in November here. I like chatting with the farmers to get an idea of what’s tasting especially good that week. Some of my best soups and late-summer salads have come directly from a Saturday morning stop at this market. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just shop—you think about food a little differently.
